Incoming/Outgoing

Do you remember in my last post I pledged to get three letters posted by Monday? Well, YAY for me, because I did it ;) I may even indulge and write a fourth one today!

I still have 12 letters to reply to and 3 postcards to send, so thank you once again for your patience :D

I've found that now I'm not sleeping on the train so much I can actually write letters during that small space of time to myself. It does, however, mean, that every so often, my writing gets a little crazy thanks to the movement of the train, but I'm sure you all understand ;)

Incoming

A lovely and unexpected first letter from Sheilta in the States.

An equally lovely letter from the fabulous Darcy.

Outgoing

A letter to Michelle in Singapore. She sent me the amazing Kawaii package I most recently received.

A reply to the sweet, sweet Audrey in Malaysia.

And finally a reply to my niece in Ireland.

I've had a lot of fun with stamps because I'm finally running out of exact value stamps so I've been decorating the envies with a multitude of stamps, which has made me happy to no end!

I'm currently sitting on my kitchen balcony, trying to enjoy a home made cappucino from a sachet, which is proving difficult after enjoying milky coffees from cafes for the past two weekends. The air is fragrant and crisp, the courtyard is quiet and there is a light Autumnal mist hanging in the air.

I'm happy and inspired and I want this feeling to last all the way through to Monday... but with a 5.30am alarm call, I'm not sure it will :b

Incoming/Outgoing

I feel a little sick today. I’m hoping it’s just hunger and not actual sickness. Last night the bf’s parents took us out for dinner and I ate some lovely seafood and drank a little too much Sicilian wine, which of course, forced me to sleep in. Today will be a lazy one (I hope) reading up on Reggio and planning for our move, which will be nuts.

Anyway, onto the post….

This little pretty came from Patty and arrived on Saturday morning. I was really excited because her return address had rubbed off from the front of the packet so it was a little mystery until I opened it. Thanks for the stationery Patty!!

Outgoing

I got pretty creative with sellotape on these envies because the stickers weren’t very sticky and the envies were a little waxy, so I didn’t want anything to fall off in transit. Overall I’m so happy with how they came out I’m sharing the front and back of each envie with you :)

S5033779 S5033780This one is going to Caiti, hers was unsealed at the time of photographing it because I’d promised to send along a poem that I forgot to include last time. This time, I remembered ;)

A postcard reply to Maike in Germany, who sent me a cute penguin postie to cheer me up when I was having some bad mail days :D (this postie was handmade by a swap partner, i love it!)

S5033869 S5033871

And finally a card for my Mum to cheer her up seeing as she’s incapacitated at home with her badly broken arm :( I wanted to take a picture of the card because it’s gorgeous, beautiful paper with raw edges and pressed flowers, but silly me sealed the envie without snapping it :(

I’m going to drop these off at the post office later today, so the recipents should have their little envies within a week. I hope.

I’m going to go and check the mailbox now… even if it’s empty, today is a good mail day because these letters and envies I worked so hard on will start their journey to the hands of their deserving recipients :)

EDIT:// eeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!! I just checked the mailbox and today is a fantastic mail day! Will share tomorrow, I promise xx

I got in trouble when I went to the post office on Friday. Apparently I hadn't left enough space for the stamp (wuh?!) and the moody lady at the post office spent a lot of time complaining in Italian. I almost muttered 'che palle' under my breath, but thankfully held my tongue.

If I was worried that your letters weren't going to reach you last time, I'm even more worried this time round!

Anyhoo, here is documentation that I did actually write the letters, but after Caiti's tease with the mystery letters, I decided to do the same ;) I have one more letter to reply to and one that is written already and will be sent tomorrow. I'm currently in Lyon, so some of you will get Italian stamps and some of you will get French ones :)

A handful of mystery letters :)

Imcoming/Outgoing - Happy post day :)

The post man arrived a little later than usual today, I got some bits for the sushi matchbox swap, I also received 1 postcrossing postie from Finland with the most amazing stamp showing the Northern Lights and I got 3 swap bot posties.

Postcrossing postie from Finalnd

City postie swap

'My swap bot name' postie swap from the US

Another swap bot name postie, again from the US.
I think this card is hilarious!

As for my outgoing, I wrote a letter to Candi last night and posted it this morning without taking a silly picture. I'll have to recreate the stationery used for a dummy picture. I'm kicking myself!

I had to make an emergency post office trip this morning, it's their half day today and I was in desperate need of stamps. I bought 20, but have a feeling they are going to disappear quickly. This is one of the reasons... I joined a 'quarted postcard swap' on swap bot, you have to take 4 postcards, quarter them and make 4 new cards with one piece from each original. It was loads of fun to do, but it meant the postage was bumped up to the next bracket making it espensive :( Here is my end result.

I also wrote a couple of letters in reply to my two received yesterday. Beware Darcy, if you're reading this your letter is here so don't read any further if you don't want to spoil the stationery surprise!

A reply to Audrey in Malaysia

A reply to Darcy in NY

Incoming!

I got an amazing parcel from Janet Store this morning, with a huge bundle of cards (one of which I got for free, thanks Janet!) and some cute, CUTE stickers. I also had two letters waiting for me, from Audrey in Malaysia and Darcy in New York. They were both great letters and I'm eager to reply :D

The awesome stamps on my parcel

More awesome stamps from Malaysia this time

My letter from Darcy, with equally pretty stampage. I also love
the little clouds she drew and the cute writing for my name :)

I also (finally) got the adds for one of my swaps: 10 things to be happy about. I really enjoyed decorating the cards, but the stupid gel pens never seem to dry 100% so they got a tiny bit smudged :(

I decorated the envies to match the inside of the cards

The inside and the 10 things I chose

The two pretties :)

I've totally run out of 97p stamps, which gets anything between 10.1 and 20g to anywhere in the world. A popular stamp!! The next bracket up is for 20.1 - 40g and it's a whopping £1.46!!!! I had to refrain from putting a second sticker sheet in my swap cards today because it put them over by a gram and would have cost me more than I spent on the cards AND stickers just to send :( Royal Mail is super expensive!

Also good news, I received my first two rating at swap bot and I got 2 x 5 and 2 <3's as well. I'm stoked :D

My bf was making a sandwich with Hungarian salami for lunch when I noticed he could make a face with the meat, so he did :D

I hope you've all had a great Tuesday x
